GraceKennedy Limited (GK) continues to build on its stellar achievements in corporate governance by claiming the prestigious Jamaica Stock Exchange (JSE) Best Practices Governor General’s Award for Excellence for the third year in a row.

The award honours the listed company which consistently upholds international best practices to be declared the overall winner of the annual JSE Best Practices Awards. GK also received the award for 2004, 2018, 2020 and 2021.

Don Wehby, GK Group CEO expressed his pride in the GK team’s accomplishments, “To win a third consecutive Governor General’s Award for Excellence is truly remarkable, and a clear validation of our unwavering focus on good corporate governance at all levels of our business. I am incredibly proud of every single member of our amazing GK team who contributed to this success, and grateful for the guidance and exceptional leadership of our Board of Directors. This is a true testament to our commitment to transparency, accountability, and excellence across the GK Group.”

The GK Group also received a series of other accolades at the 2022 JSE Best Practices ceremony. The report outlines GK’s commitment to responsible business practices and its established ESG goals and targets, which lay the foundation for the Group achieving the bold aspirations set out in its 2030 vision.

“As an international company headquartered in Jamaica, we are committed to continuously improving and being a shining example for companies within our borders and beyond,” said Wehby.

The JSE Best Practices Awards promote best practice standards for companies listed on the Jamaica Stock Exchange. Each year awards are handed out to companies listed on the Main and Junior Market of the Stock Exchange recognizing excellence in corporate governance.
