Call for Proposals.

About Us:

The GraceKennedy Foundation was established in 1982 to mark the 60th anniversary of GraceKennedy & Company Limited. Its mission is to support GraceKennedy’s practice and ethos of “We Care” by creating environmentally sustainable programmes, promoting healthy lifestyles and increasing access to quality education. As part of our ongoing efforts, we are pleased to invite registered, eligible organisations to submit grant proposals for projects focused on early childhood education and/or special needs.

Specific guidelines must be adhered to if your application is to be considered. All entities applying for grants, should carefully read the application criteria and eligibility requirements before submitting a request.

Funding Areas of Focus for 2024

Early Childhood Education and/or Special Needs Education at the primary and secondary level.

Grant Amount:

Up to JA$500,000 per selected project.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • The geographical area of interest is Jamaica
  • Must be a registered non-governmental organisation or educational institution to be considered

Examples of possible grant proposal areas (please note that your application does not have to be limited to the suggestions listed below)

  • Technology integration in education
  • Curriculum development and enrichment
  • Teacher training and professional development
  • Inclusive and accessible education initiatives
  • STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education
  • Community-based education initiative

Grants are NOT provided:

  • In response to general appeals, no matter how worthwhile the cause
  • For the general funds of an organisation or to clear debts
  • For payment of salaries or salary supplements
  • For personal study or travel
  • For personal medical or related purposes
  • For buildings /construction projects
  • For the purchase of land
  • For activities that have the potential to cause adverse impacts to critical habitat
  • To profit-making organisations or for purpose of personal profit
  • For the hosting of conferences
  • For back-to-school treats or health fairs

Submission Deadline:

Selection Process:

Proposals will be evaluated based on:

  • Alignment with GraceKennedy Foundation’s mission and focus areas
  • Project feasibility and sustainability
  • Impact on the target community or audience
  • Budget clarity and efficiency

Review Process:

Proposals will be reviewed by the Foundation’s Board, and successful applicants will be notified.

Reporting Requirements:

Grantees are required to submit a final report summarizing the project outcomes and complete a grant evaluation form.
