The First Global Bank, First Global Financial Services Limited, Allied Insurance Brokers Limited and JIIC companies are now officially in their new location with the grand opening of the GraceKennedy Financial Building at the Fairview Shopping Centre in Montego Bay, recently.
Minister of Finance and the Public Service, the Honourable Audley Shaw who was the guest speaker lauded the move of the GraceKennedy Financial Group in this major investment and spoke candidly about the success of the Government’s Debt Exchange programme.
In his remarks, Chief Executive Officer of GKFG, Courtney Campbell noted that the four (4) companies, JIIC, Allied, FGB and FGFS have already started to see an improvement in their business offerings since relocating. He emphasized the group’s commitment to the development of Montego Bay and Jamaica.

According to Mr. Campbell, “because we believe in you, we have committed capital expenditure of over $120 million at this difficult time, in order to provide you with better facilities in which to conduct your financial affairs.”
He adds that FGB has increased its staff complement, introduced commercial credit cards and recently launched Global Access, the most advanced internet banking solution in Jamaica.”
Chief Operating Officer at GraceKennedy Limited, Don Wehby, re-iterated GraceKennedy’s commitment to Western Jamaica especially to further “the mission of meeting the unmet needs of our customers wherever they are in the world.” He is particularly very optimistic about Montego Bay’s focus on business as “this positive mindset in one of the many factors that makes Montego Bay an attractive location for so many companies.”
According to Mr. Wehby, “Montego Bay has been emerging as a major economic centre, with most of the larger companies seeking to establish a presence here,” and therefore with the opening of the Montego Bay Convention Centre, the city will be positioned as the meeting destination of choice for the Caribbean.
The function, which culminated in a tour of the offices of all four (4) companies saw dignitaries such as His Worship Councillor Charles Sinclair, Mayor of Montego Bay; The Honourable Doctor Horace Chang, Minister of Water & Housing; and Mr. Derrick Kellier, Member of Parliament, South St. James.
