The Nissan Teana, the all-new luxury sedan, from Fidelity Motors Ltd. was unveiled to the media in a classy breakfast event befitting the elegant automobile. In attendance at the launch were Hon. Mike Henry, Minister of Transport and Works, His Worship the Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie, with GraceKennedy Company CEO Douglas Orane as the guest speaker.
The premium sedan made its global debut at The Auto China Car show in April 2008 where it received the “Best World Premier” award. The concepts of modern luxury and comfort in motion guided the development of Teana, and contributed to the hospitable and relaxed ambience drivers and passengers experience with the vehicle.
The ceremony which included messages from Hon. Mike Henry, Mayor Desmond McKenzie and Douglas Orane culminated in the unveiling of the well-designed machine. The Teana, weighing in as Nissan’s combatant in Jamaica’s mid-sized luxury sedan class, certainly sported an unmistakable look of class. The vehicle’s class however would be defined immediately afterwards, with test drives being offered to the media.
This is where the Teana left a lasting impression. The silky smooth ride combined with the luxurious interior truly made for a pleasurable driving experience. The top of the line Teana is powered by the Nissan’s highly regarded V6 engine (VQ25DE) combined with XTRONIC CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and incorporating Adaptive Shift Control (ASC) for a smooth ride and better fuel economy. The Teana is also offered with a more economical 2.0L gasoline engine (MR20DE).
