Dr. Cassida Jones, Chief HR Officer – GK Foods, is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Maria Williams as Divisional Security Manager – GK Foods & Corporate and Chief Officer – Group Disaster Preparedness, effective June, 2008.

Miss Williams commenced her working life in the field of accounting, then embarked on a career with the Jamaica Constabulary Force at the graduate entry level. The last positions held were Deputy Superintendent of Police and Branch Manager of the Jamaica Police Co-operative Credit Union Limited. During her tenure in the force, she spent most of her career in the Organised Crime Investigation Division, where she was Officer in Charge of the white collar crime investigations unit, investigating credit card frauds, copyright infringements, money laundering, asset forfeiture and insurance frauds. In addition, she supervised a cadre of police officers and performed general policing duties. Prior to joining the Grace family, Miss Williams was in charge of the day to day operations of MSI Investigations and Security Services Limited.

Miss Williams holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management Studies & Economics from the University of the West Indies and is currently pursuing a Master’s in Business Administration at the Manchester Business School, United Kingdom. She is an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and a Past Director of the Kiwanis Club of East St. Andrew. She enjoys reading, movies, road trips and spending quality time with her daughter.
