GraceKennedy Limited has supported the efforts of the Jamaican government to assist the people of Haiti in the wake of devastation of that island by four weather systems. The company’s donation, valued at approximately J$3.3 million, included many of our ready to eat products such as Grace Corned Beef, Grace Instant Porridge, Grace Sardines, as well as an assortment of canned beans. The items left the island on Friday, September 12 above a coast guard vessel along with other supplies.
This initiative comes on the heel of our recent contribution to local recovery efforts which saw GraceKennedy and our business partner Western Union donating
$J3.6 million to the United Way to assist Jamaicans who have been affected by Tropical Storm Gustav.
