GraceKennedy Limited and its subsidiary First Global Financial Services Limited (FGFS) took home three of the six awards at the Jamaica Stock Exchange 2005 Awards, held on December 6,2006 in Kingston, Jamaica.

GraceKennedy placed first in the category ‘ Best Practices, Corporate Disclosure and Investor Relations’, and shared the first prize with The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited in the category ‘Best Practices, Annual Report’.

First Global Financial Services won top prize for ‘Best Practices, Investor Relations, (Stockbrokerage)’.

Karen Chin Quee Akin, Chief Corporate Secretary & Senior Legal Counsel, accepts the Jamaica Stock  Exchange Trophy for Best Practices, Corporate Disclosure and Investor Relations’ from Vernon Davidson, Executive Editor - Publications at the Jamaica Observer Ltd.

Guest speaker at the event, Governor General, Professor Kenneth Hall charged the JSE to continue its thrust of leading the Jamaican financial sector into the Single Market & Economy. He said that for the CSME to be successful there must be integration of financial services such as the markets.

Among the many benefits, he cited were “the establishment of a single wholesale market to enable corporate issuers to finance on competitive terms on a Caribbean wide basis, and to provide investors and intermediaries with access to all markets from a single point of entry.

Earlier this year, GraceKennedy Ltd. received the award for ‘Best Annual Report’ for its 2005 report from the Trinidad & Tobago Stock Exchange, on which the company is also listed.
