Radley Reid is an educator, who has been involved in education for over 40 years. He taught at Clarendon College, Liguanea Preparatory School and Campion College, where he spent 33 years and retired as Headmaster in 2005.
Totally involved in several areas of education; he has served on the CXC Panel for Chemistry, the National CXC Council and several Committees for the development CXC Syllabuses. He wrote and revised several papers and books in Math and Science. He sits as member or chairs several School Boards from the Primary to the Tertiary levels, is Chairman of the United Church Public Education Committee and Deputy Chairman of the Teachers’ Services Commission. A lover of the classroom, he has taught Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics to thousands of children from many schools and has conducted numerous workshops for teachers.
Since retiring he has been consulting in schools in a programme entitled “The Curriculum Improvement Process using Assessment, Evaluation and Analysis for Student Enhancement” and has served as consultant to the Education Transformation Team and the NCB Mathematics Project in Secondary Schools.
Mr. Reid also finds time to sit on the Board of Directors of non Educational Institutions. He is a Rotarian and an Elder in the United Church in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands and has received several awards, including the O.D. for his work in Education, Religion and Community Work.
He was educated at Clarendon College, U.W.I. (Mona) and Moray House (Scotland), is married and has two sons.
