Chief Corporate Secretary and Senior Legal Counsel 

Karen Chin Quee Akin joined the GraceKennedy Group in October 2003 and is Chief Corporate Secretary and Senior Legal Counsel for the Group. An Attorney-at-Law, admitted to practice at the Jamaican Bar, Mrs. Chin Quee Akin obtained her Bachelor of Laws (LLB Hons.) from The University of the West Indies, and the Legal Education Certificate from the Norman Manley Law School. She is a holder of the Christopher Blackman prize in labour law. 

Mrs. Akin has practised at the private bar as an Associate with the law firms Thwaites, Fairclough Watson & Company and Rattray Patterson Rattray. She has also had several years' experience as Corporate Counsel in the banking and insurance sectors and prior to joining GraceKennedy was General Manager, Corporate & Legal Services, Corporate Secretary and Country Compliance Officer for The Bank of Nova Scotia Jamaica Limited. Before that she was head of the Legal Department and Corporate Secretary for Life of Jamaica Limited. 

In her current position she heads the Corporate Secretariat and Legal Department for GraceKennedy. She is also Secretary for GraceKennedy Limited and several companies in the Group and is a member of the Board of Hi-Lo Foods Stores Jamaica.
