Everton McDonald is presently a business and financial consultant. He is a former Chairman of PricewaterhouseCoopers Caribbean and Territory Senior Partner PricewaterhouseCoopers, Jamaica, where he had a distinguished career spanning close to 40 years, retiring in 2009. His areas of specialisation were Assurance and Business Advisory Services.
A past student of Calabar High School, Mr McDonald received a Bachelor of Science degree (Upper Second Class Honours) from The University of the West Indies in 1969.
He qualified for the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) in 1972, and became a Practising Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Jamaica (ICAJ) in 1973. He has also held the positions of Vice-President and Council Member, and served as President of the ICAJ from 1989 to 1991. He currently serves as a member of the ICAJ Disciplinary Committee. He holds the designations of FCCA and FCA.
Mr McDonald was appointed a Director of GraceKennedy Ltd. on May 26, 2011. He is also a Director of the University Hospital of the West Indies (UHWI) and of the hospital’s private ward, the Tony Thwaites Wing, and is a Trustee of the National Health Fund Pension Scheme. He served as a Board member of the Jamaica Conference Board, and as the ICAJ representative to the Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica (PSOJ). He was Honorary Treasurer of the National Crime Prevention Fund, as well as a Board Member and Finance Director of Hillel Academy. He also served as a member of the Public Accountancy for a number of years.
Mr. McDonald is a Paul Harris Fellow of the Rotary Foundation, Rotary International. He was recognised as an outstanding UWI alumnus in the field of business during the UWI’s 60th Anniversary Celebrations in 2008.
