On Monday,
February 14, Grace, Kennedy rolled
out its new corporate logo to
the public for the first time during
an unveiling at its Harbour Street
head offices in Kingston. The familiar
ellipse on the front of the building
gave way to the new logo in a ceremony
involving Councillor Desmond McKenzie,
Mayor of Kingston & St. Andrew,
Chairman & CEO Douglas Orane,
and the Board of Directors.
The new corporate logo will eventually
replace the ellipse logo on all
corporate letterheads, signage and
everywhere the Grace, Kennedy name
appears. The Grace, Kennedy ellipse
logo, under the slogan, ‘Quality
since 1922’ will now be used
exclusively by the Food Trading
Division.
This is the first time, that Grace,
Kennedy has had a corporate logo.
Chairman and CEO Douglas Orane explained
that the move is part of the company’s
strategy to ‘signal to all
our stakeholders the increasing
diversity and future directions
of the Grace, Kennedy Group’.
The new logo incorporates elements
of the familiar Grace brand to create
a strong, new corporate image. It
retains the crown, which symbolizes
the fact that the customer is king
and wears the crown. It also retains
the black and red - colours which
have come to be associated with
our company for many decades.
