Guyanese will have something to cheer about this Christmas that will take them well into the New Year, thanks to GKRS Guyana and Western Union's promotion - 'Savings from Santa, Cash for Mash.'

According to Jennifer Cipriani-Nelson, Marketing Manager, GKRS (Guy) Ltd., this promotion is geared towards catering to customers' needs, firstly for good deals during the holiday shopping period and, secondly, for extra cash during February when many persons are financially down due to heavy Christmas spending.

"The promotion is a two in one, where we will focus on rewarding each customer under the 'Savings from Santa' part, and have a sweepstake draw just before Mashramani, our republic celebrations, which takes the form of a road carnival."

From November 14 to December 31, 2005, every time a customer carries out a transaction at any Western Union Agent location in Guyana, he/she will be given a shopping discount coupon redeemable at any of the participating stores listed on the coupon.

The grand drawing is billed for February 14, 2006 at the company's head offices in Georgetown, where 20 lucky customers will each win $50,000 (US$ equivalent is $250 to each winner or US$5,000 total prize money for the 20 winners).
