Limited recently launched its FX
Trader Cash Card at a media launch
at Chancellor Hotel and Conference
Centre in Port of Spain, Trinidad.
A joint initiative between Republic
Bank and GraceKennedy, the FX Trader
Cash Card is an easily accessible
and convenient pre-paid re-loadable
Visa travel card that is accepted
internationally.
According to Vanessa Ramparoop,
Operations Manager, FX Trader, "The
concept of the "card"
here in Trinidad & Tobago is
particularly strong, since the public
is very plastic oriented. You can
go to an ATM when you're abroad
and as long as you see the VISA
sign, insert the card, pin and request
your money. You can even go to a
point of sale or restaurant, swipe
your card and the money is debited."
In continuing, she said "The
amount of money on the card is dependent
on how much you actually load unto
it, but up to a maximum of US$5,
000. It is primarily US dollar denominated.
It's convenient, secure, modern
and it has strong brands associated
with it."
The FX Trader Cash Card
is accepted worldwide at any point
of sale and VISA Automated Teller
Machines (ATMs). Customers will
have a 24-hour access card that
allows them to receive funds from
more than 840, 000 ATMs and can
make purchases at over 30 million
merchants in more than 150 countries.
Each card has a PIN (personal identification
number) and is safe and secure so
if you lose your card, you don't
lose your money.
To get the FX Trader Cash Card,
you have to pay US$10.00 and each
time you load funds it costs you
1.15 per cent (US dollars) of the
value that you load on it, if used
at an ATM.
