On Tuesday December 4, First Global Financial Services (FGFS) held its official event to mark the extension of their suite of investment services in Ocho Rios and surrounding communities.
This event saw a number of prominent citizens and business leaders from the area in attendance including the Custos of St Ann Honourable Radcliffe Walters and wife and President of the St Ann Chamber of Commerce, Norma Walters, Custos of St. Mary and his wife, Mr. & Mrs. Bobby Pottinger, Joe Issa of Cool Oasis, Grace Wyatt of Island Communications, Robert Hoehener of Arosa Ltd, and Construction Developer, Marino Maffessanti.
President of First Global Financial Services, Sandra Shirley, described the approach to be utilized in this new region as “Premium Personalized Service.” She told the gathering that, “It is our (FGFS) philosophy to consistently create value through excellence and as a result our focus is on transparency, building trust by delivering what we promise…that means

That is the standard you can expect from FGFS.” She elaborated that through Mrs. Judy Ann Dixon, the newly appointed FGFS Business Development Executive for Ocho Rios (with whom many of the guest were already acquainted) supported by Maria Ho Sue of the Montego Bay Branch, they would experience truly personalized service.
She proposed a hassle free approach to business where FGFS will do the traveling and complete all documentation and transactions at the client's convenience. She noted that through our strategic affiliates, clients would be able to access investment options available locally, regionally and globally, in response to their requests and objectives.

As a taste of the experience and expertise promised to those gathered at the event, Vice President of First Global Financial Services Kevin Richards, presented on the topic “Creating Wealth in a challenging economy”, providing tips on investing tools such as diversification, compounding and elaborating on what he described as “ The Curse Of Inflation.”
H e noted that $100,000.00 today will be worth $22,876.79 in 15 years time based on annual inflation of 10%. He provided information on current returns available on a number of instruments in the market and the real net returns on these investments after tax, making recommendations on investment options that would produce strong favourable returns on investment. The highest yielding of which were Equities, CI Mutual Funds and the FGFS proprietary managed product; M.A.P. which produced returns on Equity M.A.P of 68.32% and fixed income returns of 14.03% year to date.
He noted that the key strategy to the strong results produced by the FGFS M.A.P product is strong diversification and the selection of top performing investment options included in each portfolio option.

It was noted that this was the first in a series of events scheduled for Ocho Rios and surrounding communities, as the company plans to take a number of its proprietary branded seminars into the region with a view to educating the investors and arming them with the tools to make sound investment decisions.
This forms a part of its overall strategy for the region that is expected to unfold throughout the coming year and that the full suite of investment services will be available to the region.
