New Location Builds on Niche Marketing Strategy
First Global Bank (FGB) has opened an in-store location in Manor Park to increase its network to three branches, joining those in Kingston and Montego Bay.
"Our expansion strategy is well on the mark and our first call has always been to enhance the banking experience and improve FGB's visibility to our customers. The new Manor Park location considerably increases convenience for our clients and we are eager to establish other strategic locations in Liguanea and Mandeville," said Don Wehby, FGB's Deputy Chairman.
Located in the Hi-Lo Food Store, the Bank will be managed by Angela Fraser and will provide account opening facilities, foreign exchange sales, the sale of manager's cheques and drafts, as well as a variety of other banking services. Opening hours are Monday to Friday from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. An Internet banking kiosk is located in the new branch where customers can pay bills, check balances and transfer funds.
FGB's service menu includes FGB Online, its charge-free Internet banking service, as well as easy to use telephone banking service. Through FGB Online, customers can check account balances, review transactions for up to six weeks, download and print statements, make bill payments, and send secured messages. The Bank's Internet-based bill payment service boasts the widest range of service providers in Jamaica. FGB will later this year introduce its Gold and Platinum Visa credit card.
First Global Bank and First Global Financial Services Limited-both part of the GraceKennedy Financial Services Division-are expected to list on the Jamaica Stock Exchange during the first half of 2006. "Listing in the JSE is an important step in the development of both companies," said Mr Wehby. Since inception in 2002, First Global Bank has continued to grow significantly and in 2004 the Bank's deposits increased by 154% from $1.8 billion to $4.6 billion.
