Erwin Burton has held several senior positions since joining the GraceKennedy Group in 1969. Among his significant contributions have been the development of AgroGrace Ltd. into the island's major supplier of agricultural inputs, and the dramatic turnaround of the ailing merchandise division (now Grace Foods & Services Company) into a profitable enterprise. He is currently Deputy Chief Executive Officer, GraceKennedy Limited and Chief Executive Officer, GK Foods.
In 1998, he was appointed to the Board of Directors of GraceKennedy Ltd. He also serves on the boards of several GraceKennedy subsidiaries namely Grace Foods International; World Brands Services; National Processors Ltd.; Wisdom (Ja.) Ltd.; Grace Food Processors Ltd; Grace Food Processors (Canning) Ltd.; and Grace, Kennedy (Belize) Ltd.. He is a director of the Jamaica Agricultural Development Foundation (JADF).
From August 1975 to Sept 1977, Mr. Burton attended Tuskegee Institute of Agriculture, Alabama where he obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal & Poultry Science. In 1978 he obtained a Master of Science in Animal Nutrition from the University of Arkansas, Division of Agriculture. In April 1981 he attended the Institute of Management & Production where he pursued a course in Essentials of Management, and in January 1987 he attended Harvard University Agribusiness Seminar. In June 1999, he attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business where he pursued a course in "Leading and Managing Change."
