Peter Norton Moss-Solomon was named Chairman of the Board of Directors of the GraceKennedy Foundation in 2002. He has been a director of the Foundation since its formation in 1982.
He also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation's parent company - GraceKennedy Limited.
He joined the staff of GraceKennedy Ltd. in April 1958, and held several positions until his retirement in 1998. His most recent appointments include Finance Director, which he held from 1989. Prior to that, he was Managing Director of George & Branday Limited for five years, during which he was responsible for the overall implementation and management of the merchant bank's objectives, policies and strategic plans. He also served as Deputy Managing Director of GraceKennedy Limited - Merchandise and as Manager - Inspection Division. Mr. Moss-Solomon was called to the Board of Directors of GraceKennedy Ltd. in July 1975, and currently serves as a member of the following Committees of the Board - Chairman's Advisory; Corporate Governance and Audit. He serves as chairman of the following subsidiary companies - First Global Financial Services Ltd.; Hi-Lo Food Stores (Ja.) Limited; and Jamaica International Insurance Co. Limited. He also serves as director of other Group companies including GraceKennedy Remittance Services Limited; and Medi-Grace Limited. He is also a director of the Luis Fred Kennedy Environmental Foundation.
His other affiliations include Chairman of the Priory School Trust Society, member of Jamaica College Trust and The Boys' Brigade Trust Fund.
He was educated at The Priory School, Jamaica College, and McGill University.
Professor Elsa Leo-Rhynie was appointed a Director of the GraceKennedy Foundation in 1999.
A distinguished Jamaican scholar and educator, Prof. Elsa Leo-Rhynie is the Pro. Vice-Chancellor of Undergraduate Studies at the University of the West Indies' (UWI) Mona Campus. She is also Professor and Regional Coordinator of Women & Development Studies at the UWI. She arrived at the post via the route of high school teacher, lecturer in the UWI Department of Education, and Executive Director of the prestigious Institute of Management & Production (IMP).
Professor Leo-Rhynie is married and the mother of three.
